Of all the times women have used (often lethal) products to try to ensure that they had clear skin and bright eyes:

• Aqua Toffana, a deadly poison which caused to its creator to be executed,
• arsenic,
• belladonna,
• chalk,
• lime water,
• mercury,
• sulphur,
• and, among others, white lead,

the 21st century is no better:

• Drosperidone, fourth generation progesterone, OTC?
